We love these sweet, old Victorian-era trading cards. Many businesses would advertise their wares with a fanciful, colorful image on the front of a cardstock postcard with their message on the back around the turn of the last century.
This trading card features coffees and teas sold by C. D. Kenny in downtown Norfolk, circa 1900. This shop was located exactly where the Norfolk Southern Building is today at Commercial Place.
This is part of our 30,000-piece culinary artifacts collection that centers on Virginia food + foodways. The collection is being archived for researchers and public enjoyment. If you have a piece to donate, please contact us at VirginiaEatsAndDrinks@gmail.com
