It’s spring, and flowers are blooming, trees are budding, and, as days become longer, they also become warmer.

Here’s a light red sangria that is great for this time of year; serve it at brunch, perhaps on Easter Sunday or Mother’s Day, or out on the porch with light appetizers, such as our Raisin Toast with Honey Cream Cheese + Everything Bagel Spice [LINK]

Ingredients

1 pint strawberries, trimmed and sliced

1 pint blueberries

3 peaches, stones removed and rough chopped

1 bottle Grenache/Garacha, such as a 2016 Gerberas Garacha; tasting notes HERE [LINK]

13/4cup fruit-based liqueur, such as Nektar liqueur [LINK]

Club soda, chilled

Fresh mint

Method

In a large pitcher, add strawberries, blueberries and peaches. Add wine and liqueur and stir; refrigerate several hours. Before serving fill pitcher with club soda. Garnish each glass with fresh mint.

Yields about 8 servings
