Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in style with a very Virginia Irish Coffee.
From our friends, Stella and Mariusz Pomianek of Cafe Stella [two locations in Norfolk] comes this recipe for a hot cocktail that will put a jig in your step. Here’s how to make it:
Coffee Ingredients
1 teaspoon packed brown sugar
3 teaspoons white sugar
1-1/2 ounces whiskey

6 ounces hot coffee

Whipped Cream

Fresh grated nutmeg
Method
In a heat tolerant glass, add brown sugar and white sugar. Add whiskey and stir to dissolve sugar. Top with coffee, leaving about a half-inch at top for whipped cream. Add whipped cream and garnish with a little nutmeg.
