In the heart of the fastest growing area of Suffolk is Amedeo’s Ristorante.
It’s the latest restaurant from the team who brought you Vintage Tavern, River Stone Chophouse, and Decoys Seafood. The brand new Amedeo’s Ristorante will offer an experience of Oderzo, Italy, home of Amedeo Obici — the founder of Planters Peanut, the creator of Mr. Peanut, and the historic, economic and healthcare legend in Suffolk.
Look for delish dishes from Executive Chef Travis King. On a recent visit VAEATS sampled a tasting menu from Chef King that included:
+ Caprese | a refreshing appetizer of fresh local tomatoes, Caputo Bros. mozzarella, basil, and balsamic pearls on Amedeo’s baked bread and garnished with black pepper.
+ Radicchio Chop | a lovely salad of spring greens, radicchio, shaved Granny Smith apple, pomegranate, toasted walnut, and gorgonzola cheese in a prosecco vinaigrette.
+ Lasagna | laminated herb pasta with six-hour slow-braised meat argue, Amedeo meatball, Caputo Bros. three-cheese béchamel, pomodoro, fresh herbs, and virgin press olive oil.
+ Bronzino | a whole Mediterranean seabass seasoned and pan-seared with red pepper and garlic nage’, finished with shaved radish, radicchio, shaved scallions, lemon, and virgin press olive oil.
+ An assortment of yum-mazing sweets from the adjacent Amedeo’s Bakery, such as hand-dipped cannolis, Italian Wedding Cookies, Planter’s Peanut Butter Cake, Red Velvet miniature cakes, and a seasonal fruit tart.
“Here at Amedeo’s, I take traditional Italian cooking techniques and recipes then give them the modern touch to excite the dining experience,” says Chef King. The chef was previously at The Butcher’s Son in Chesapeake.
